Multiple vendors will attend, including WVU Medicine, Blue Ridge Community and Technical College, Hedgesville Fire Department, Hospice of the Eastern Panhandle and Panhandle Home Health. They will be hosting a food truck with a healthy menu and providing demonstration for yoga, meditation, assistive technology and exercises for golfers.
Chronic pain self-management program new session announcedMARTINSBURG — Living Well, a chronic pain self-management program, is a weekly workshop designed to help individuals coping with one or more chronic pain learn to take day-to-day responsibility for their care, increase the skills necessary to manage their pain and work effectively with their health care professional.
The new in-person workshop begins May 4 and meets every Wednesday through June 6 from 9-11:30 a.m. The six-week program will be held at the Berkeley Senior Center at 217 North High Street in Martinsburg. It promises to be interactive, informative and fun.
Living Well is free and open to those with chronic pain and other health issues related to pain. Everyone can benefit from learning the skills to coordinate all the activities needed to manage their health, as well as help them maintain a full and active life.

Weekly free COVID-19 testing and vaccine clinicMARTINSBURG — The PAAC COVID-19 surge testing and vaccine team hosts a free weekly COVID-19 testing and vaccine clinic for ages 5 and older.
Every Thursday, the clinic will take place at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints located at 93 Langston Blvd. in Martinsburg. All testing and vaccinations will be conducted on a first-come, first-served basis from 11 a.m.-4 p.m.
Free COVID-19 tests, vaccinations and booster shots are available to everyone in the community. Johnson & Johnson, Moderna and Pfizer vaccines will be available. All children under the age of 18 wanting to be vaccinated must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. No insurance is required. Results are usually back within 48 to 72 hours.

Open recruitment for Mindfulness-Based Resilience Training workshops for frontline health workers, law enforcement personnelMORGANTOWN — Frontline health workers and law enforcement personnel are recruiting 200 frontline health workers and law enforcement personnel from West Virginia to participate in Mindfulness-Based Resilience Training (MBRT). The two-day training will help to improve mental and physical well-being along with preventing compassion fatigue, burnout and attrition.
Participants may include foster care families, social workers, child protective services personnel, case managers and coordinators, emergency services personnel, behavioral health personnel and law enforcement personnel.
Training opportunities will be held at Martinsburg Blue Ridge Community and Technical College on Thursday and Friday.
There is no cost to this training, and all meals and materials will be covered. The only cost is your time and willingness to participate. Participants will need to work with supervisors to allocate time to participate.

Free community COVID-19 testingMARTINSBURG — Shenandoah Community Health is expanding its free COVID-19 community testing hours. The PCR test is now be available through the drive-thru testing tent on 99 Tavern Rd., Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. with no appointment or order.
This service is available to SCH patients and non-patients, and results are received directly from the lab, typically between 24-48 hours.
Free National Diabetes Prevention Program set WINCHESTER, Va. — Valley Health is offering new sessions of the National Diabetes Prevention Program, a free, 12-month class designed to help adults who are at risk for developing diabetes and are ready to make lasting lifestyle changes. One group will meet virtually on Mondays from noon-1 p.m., while the other will meet in person at Warren Memorial Hospital on Wednesdays from 3:30–4:30 p.m.
To be eligible for the National Diabetes Prevention Program, individuals must be overweight, not have a diabetes diagnosis and have one or more of the following: elevated blood sugar levels, high blood pressure, family history of diabetes, be physically inactive and history of gestational diabetes.

Good Samaritan Free Clinic scheduleMARTINSBURG — Good Samaritan provides free health care to the uninsured and underinsured. The main clinic is at 601 S. Raleigh St., Martinsburg. It does not take appointments and provides family practice care at all the clinics except women’s health evening.
Hours for the clinic are:
• Wednesdays at 5 p.m.
• First Tuesday of the month at 5 p.m.
• Women’s Health Clinic on the third Tuesday at 5 p.m.
• Rescue Mission every Monday 10:30 a.m.-noon.
